Creative Economy expert and UGA Senior Lecturer David Sutherland agrees to serve on the Advisory Board of the Coastal Entertainment Alliance. Launched in the late summer of 2023, the Coastal Entertainment Alliance represents businesses, educational institutions, and local governments along the coast that support Georgia’s growing creative economy.
Sutherland worked in both the startup and corporate worlds for 35 years and was previously Senior Vice President of Innovation at Computer Sciences Corporation. He now serves as Senior Lecturer focused on the Creative Economy for University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. Sutherland also lectures at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, at CEDIM Design Institute in Monterrey, Mexico, and for the GISMA Business School in Hamburg, Germany.
After finding success in entrepreneurship with the startup of three companies, Sutherland has served as a trusted advisor to many companies both inside and outside the US, including BMW, Sony, Siemens and Coca Cola. He lives on a farm outside Athens with his wife Sarah, dog Norah, and a variety of horses.
